SyncReality aims to build a “house-sized” virtual reality game space for Meta Quest 2 that blends the physical and virtual worlds.
Berlin-based startup SyncReality wants to use developer tools to remove digital security limitations that exist in the XR environment. This is done by automatically and individually adapting the virtual environment, including rooms and furniture, to the physical world. As a result, the living room turns into a digital playground for augmented and virtual reality games. This is all possible without the need for modern safety mechanisms such as Guardian Perimeters.
Transform your home into an XR playground
SyncReality says it sees an opportunity for developers and creators. Its auto-adaptive design tools enable developers to build seamless experiences for end-her users, allowing them to easily navigate virtual realms and interact intuitively.
The SyncReality platform aims to enable users to create digital doubles through volumetric spatial mapping. In other words, the virtual world adapts to the real world. For example, you can turn your home office into his sci-fi lab in a virtual environment. A simple tool in the real world can turn into ammunition in a VR environment.
This adaptation happens automatically and in real time. Presumably, the scanned surface gives tactile feedback and therefore has a correspondingly realistic feel. SyncReality seamlessly links multiple rooms together to create a “house-sized” playground. SyncReality has released a video demonstrating its vision of a future where entire homes are digitized and turned into virtual reality games.
SyncReality also plans to enhance its XR design tools. An alpha version of this tool will be released soon as a Unity plugin that is also supported on the Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest Pro VR headsets.
SyncReality is also planning the next iteration of this tool. Asset tools enable flexible, platform-independent parametric assets and experiences.
The company is also working on an AI-powered room simulator for test environments, along with a marketplace where users can trade and sell virtual assets. Additionally, SyncReality is working on a port to Unreal as well as creator tools designed for users without development skills.
SyncReality showcased its products at the Augmented World Expo in Lisbon, Portugal.
