slate preview
There are 12 games scheduled, 8 of which will be inter-conference play.
The Jets will be the only team to play the second game, but none of the 24 teams will be active on Friday. The Canucks vs. Wild matchup certainly deserves a lot of attention in fantasy. These are two teams with elite talent. Among them are Elias Pettersson and Kirill Kaprizov, who have either very bad defense (Canucks) or very bad goaltending (Wild), securing many scoring chances. Both teams are off to a bad start, conceding a combined 39 goals in seven games.
goalie
Igor ShesterkinNYR vs SJ ($8,800): The most expensive goalie of what should be the most lopsided matchup. The Sharks have zero points in five games, while the Rangers are third with 17 points.
Linus UrmarkBOS vs. ANH ($8,500): Urmark has emerged as the better goalkeeper so far in the competition for playing time with Jeremy Swayman. The Ducks offense has improved this season, but the defense remains a major headache. This is good for Urmark as it gives the Bruins a chance to provide a ton of goal support.
Logan ThompsonVEG vs. WPG ($8,100): Thompson has played excellently through three games, making 37 saves despite losing in the starting line-up. It should be a close game, but the Jets are playing back-to-back in the second half and the Knights will make their final substitutions on home ice.
value play
Marcus JohanssonWSH on OTT ($4,000): Note that Lars Eller will be the number one center and Evgeny Kuznetsov will be suspended with similar strength. Enter Johansson, who took Kuznetsov’s spot and had two assists against the Canucks last game.
Iri TorvanenCBJ’s NSH ($4,600): Torvanen now appears to be a fixture in the second line alongside Ryan Johansen and Nino Niederreiter. I use a lot of shots.
line stack
penguins vs kings
Sidney Crosby (C – $9,600), Jake Genzel (W – $8,400), Rickard Raquel (W – $4,600)
Rakel is a bit behind the curve with just one goal so far this season, but the many scoring chances he has created should give him points soon. Crosby and Gentzel, on the other hand, are one of the best tandems in the league facing a suspected goaltending team.
Rangers vs Sharks
Vincent Trochek (C – $5,600), artemi panarin (W – $9,000), Alexis Lafreniere (W – $5,100)
This should be a very popular stack. Because people don’t realize how fit his Trocheck is and how good Lafreniere he is this season. The Rangers’ offense should terrorize the thin, goaltending Shark defense, which is non-existent most nights.
oilers hurricane
Sebastian Ajo (C – $8,000), Teuvo Terravainen (W – $6,300), Seth Jarvis (W – $5,900)
Terravainen got off to a slow start, but hopefully that cold streak beats the Oilers, who have another goalie headache. , Kanes will most likely face a struggling Jack Campbell.
Counsel
Rasmus DarlingBUF in CGY ($6,600): Darling has 3 goals and 4 points and is on the cusp of a big breakout season playing in the top pair. At this salary, Darling is a worthwhile play for the amount of offense he can produce.
Milo HeiskanenDAL on TOR ($5,700): Heiskanen is usually the first name that comes to mind for players who are better at real hockey than fantasy. But earlier this season that was not the case, with Huiskanen scoring two goals and three points for him. Heiskanen’s talent is hard to overlook against a team struggling in goaltending.
Karen AddisonMIN vs. VAN ($4,200): Addison will continue to be an excellent value play among defenses as long as he stays in this salary range. established himself as a quarterback.
