Devon Toos Due to an undisclosed injury, he will not play at the avalanche against the Seattle Kraken on Friday (9 PM ET; ALT2, ROOT-NW, ESPN+, SN NOW).
The defense suffered an injury Wednesday in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Winnipeg Jets.
“He will miss tonight and probably tomorrow (against the Vegas Golden Knights),” Avalanche coach Jared Bednar said. “He’s a little sore, but that’s good news. It should be short-lived.”
Towes, who has three assists in four games this season, had an NHL career-high 57 points (13 goals, 44 assists) in 66 games last season, leading the NHL with a plus-52 rating.
Forward dryden hunt Making his Avalanche debut the day after the forward was waived by the New York Rangers.
Hunt, who plays four lines, has scored one goal in three games for the Rangers this season. He played in his October 11 Tampa Bay season opener against the Lightnings in New York in a 3–1 victory, although here he appeared in all three games.
“I’d be happy to help in any way I can,” Hunt said. Anywhere you can tip in, it’s kind of huge. It’s a responsibility to someone like me.”

Jake Genzel Coach Mike Sullivan said he will travel with the Penguins for a five-game road trip while he is being evaluated for an upper body injury.
The forward, who didn’t practice Friday, left with a 6-1 win against the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday after being hit in the ear by a shot from the Pittsburgh defense Chris Lettan 6:51 in the third period.It happened after Genzel received a high shoulder hit forward from Los Angeles Brendan Lemieux 4:20.
First-line left winger Genzel has scored five goals (three goals and two assists) in four games. He led Pittsburgh last season with his 40 goals in 76 games.
“[Guentzel] He’s a great player and does a lot for us.” Sidney Crosby Said. “He’s not an easy player to replace. So when you’re injured, you have to find a way to make up for the players you’ve lost and what they’ve brought. I think we’ll do that together.”

Jake McCabe makes its season debut when the Blackhawks take on the Detroit Red Wings on Friday (8:30 PM ET, NBCSCH, BSETX, ESPN+, SN NOW).
The 29-year-old defender started off the injured reserve and has been skating for the Blackhawks since the start of training camp after undergoing cervical spine surgery during the offseason.
