The biggest news in Nashville among Predators fans is the team’s five-game losing streak after starting the season with two wins in the Global Series. After dropping Saturday night’s game to Philadelphia, the “Can you see that?” Flyers, the Preds have time to regroup before taking to the ice again at home against the St. Louis Blues. Conclusion? There is currently no joy in Smashville.
As a taste cleanser for hockey’s social media, the NHL and Adidas released last week’s ranking of the best and worst reverse retro jerseys. My decisions are based on a few basic criteria – color combinations, logos, and overall fashion (remember, my fashion peaks include bodysuits, flannel around my waist). Shirts, combat boots were included..) And, perhaps, my perfectly fair feelings towards the team.
Let’s start closer to home from the central department.
8. Arizona Coyote
I know Coyote has gone through some things this year and I hate to pile on, but these reverse retros didn’t land for me in the end. The patch is a nice touch. I especially like the desert landscape, and it has a “V” in the front that wraps around the back of the sweater.
If you love this one, why is it at the bottom of your list? The earth tones color scheme is unique, but the Sienna color that dominates the jersey is just a touch of shade to me. This jersey has the smallest margin between.
7. Colorado Avalanche
I’m happy that the Stanley Cup champions who swept the Preds in the first round of the playoffs are a little lower on any list, but my ranking for Avs Reverse Retro is really rooted in fashion, not revenge. Colorado’s Reverse Retro is based on the state flag, with a red ‘C’ main his logo and a yellow sun in the center. The color scheme isn’t terrible, but the ketchup red and mustard yellow running even slightly next to each other, like the stripes on the Avs RR, is a phobia.
Honestly, the problem with Colorado is that when they released uniforms in honor of the Quebec Nordiques, they already went back to the Reverse Retro Jackpot. Those Nordic sweaters will probably never top it, and everything Colorado does falls flat.
6. Dallas Stars
The fact that Starr isn’t at the bottom of this list is a testament to my ability to separate emotion from fashion, as associating a special jersey with the Dallas Star instantly fires up the visceral “Corey Perry Dirty Elbow Ryan Ellis.” It’s proof. head’ response. Bitterness (mostly) aside, fashion keeps the star firmly in the middle 6th place.
The Stars Reverse Retro is a solid all-over sweater inspired by the first season’s look. While I like the star’s three-dimensionality and color scheme to make a strong statement, calling green “the green of victory” is arrogant. I think there is.

Plus, Corey Perry Winter Classic 2020. It’s “meh” for me.
5. Minnesota Wild
Speaking of teams that want to use Stars, Wilde’s Reverse Retro is inspired by the 1978 North Stars. The jersey features the current Minnesota logo (see “Star Hoarder” above) and ’78 color his blocking. I’m a fan of the shoulder yoke and number shading, but the logo is essentially the same, except with some additional dimensional stitching, which makes the Wild Reverses Retro rank higher in the department. is difficult.
4. Chicago Blackhawks
There’s nothing inherently wrong with Chicago’s Reverse Retro Sweater. The colors are bold, the stripes are clean, and the “Chicago” emblazoned across the front is crisp. This jersey doesn’t rank high for me because more creative ideas are drawn. 2. Rugby looks a lot like his shirt. From the 90s, and 3. Too similar to the Detroit stuff.
3. Nashville Predators
Predators fans have been coveting navy jerseys for years, and while the Stadium series sweaters were predominantly navy, the big gold stripes and awkward “Smash Bill” typography caught the attention of many of the fan base. I had high hopes for Navy’s Reverse Retro, but the designer went in a different direction.
Nashville’s Reverse Retro has a ‘Mustard Cat’ logo, but the overall color is something you can’t miss. Instead of the nostalgic shades of Dijon, the jersey’s dominant color is too golden for mustard. The logo on the front makes up for a lot, and I think it will sell well at Smashville.
2. Winnipeg Jets
Winnipeg is a clean ’90s classic with a reverse retro design. The logo is a win for me with this look, using a hockey stick any day and having two letters he in the team name instead of one immediately adds to the cool factor. Small, smooth jets add just enough pop without being too bland. Initially, I wasn’t a fan of the predominantly white style, but the bold striped color complements this sweater and makes it a top contender in the middle category.
1. St. Louis Blues
Bruce’s collaborators understood the assignment. His cheeky quarter note looping logo over the team name is the ultimate throwback to the prototype logo designed by the Blues’ first general manager but never actually worn by the franchise. . The logo’s “Blues” arc lettering and white outline add a distinctive touch, and the team has gone limbo with its first all-gold look.
A mix of light blue and white accents softens the bold gold look, giving this a distinct top 5 league look.
