Unless you’re a Hurricanes, Rangers, Jets, or Avalanche fan, your favorite NHL team is playing Saturday. From 1:00 PM ET to late at night, there will be 14 contests on the West Coast with a total of about 550 players. Here are some key tips to help you build your fantasy lineup, whether you’re competing in the ESPN.com League or elsewhere in the Daily Fantasy Contest. .

Favorable Scoring Matchup

7:00 PM, TD Garden, Watch Live on ESPN+

The Coyotes have not lost every game this season. But they won’t win much either, including Saturday’s tilt with a much better team in Boston. Deploy all your favorite bruins, including fantasy forward David Krejci and value defender Hampus Lindholm.

After two straight losses at the start of the 2022-23 campaign, Alex Ovechkin and Co. are all in good spirits and ready to take on the Canadiens after Friday’s game in Detroit. Given Montreal’s tight turnaround and the current questionable state of their defense, this could prove to be a one-sided affair.

It doesn’t get any easier for the Blue Jackets without Patrick Laing heading to St. Louis after Friday’s home contest against the Lightning. The Blues have a bit of a championship run and have sat all week doing nothing as the regular prepares for his season. I’m sure they will come out with a productive bang.

Mid-tier fantasy forward

Andrey Kuzmenko, LW, Vancouver Canucks (37.4%): The Canucks’ new winger slid across the scoring line on a superb power play with Elias Petterson, clocking nearly 18 minutes, four shots to Jack Campbell and a goal with an extra skater in Wednesday’s opener in Edmonton. I was. Yes, I will absolutely register Kuzmenko for Saturday’s game against the Flyers in any fantasy format.

Deep League/Daily Fantasy Value Forward

Jason Zucker, LW, Pittsburgh Penguins (1.0%): The Penguins, who host the (slightly tired?) Tampa team against Columbus on Friday, could very well face backup Brian Elliot in place of Andrei Vasilevski. It’s not the worst news for members of Pittsburgh’s offense, including Zucker, who scored a goal and recorded an assist against the Coyotes on Thursday. Additionally, the speedy forward will play on the line with Evgeny Malkin’s fellow winger Brian Last. This is a bonus.

  • Mason Marchment, LW/RW, Dallas Stars (24.9%)

mid-tier fantasy defenseman

Tory Krug, Bruce (57.9%): As mentioned above, the Blues could do well with the Columbus team, who were underwhelmed in Saturday’s home side’s season opener. This bodes well for everyone involved, including the top four defense that underpins the club’s No. 1 power play, with Krug lacking a love of fantasy for his 2022-23 start. The thing is a little puzzling. ESPN.com believes he won’t be on the roster for long with less than 60% of him in the league.

Deep League/Daily Fantasy Value Defenseman

Matt Dumba, Minnesota Wild (24.9%): The underrated Wild defender blocked four shots, got four hits and collected an assist against the formidable Rangers on Thursday. It’s perfectly reasonable to expect a similar, if not better, show from Dumba vs Saturday’s Visiting Kings.

Jeremy Swayman or Linus UlmarkAnyone tapped to play against a visiting coyote. If coach Jim Montgomery is sticking to the tandem plan, it has to be Swayman.

Juuse Saros, predator (99.3%): Returning from the season opener in Europe, the Predators admitted they were unprepared when the puck fell to Dallas in Game 3 on Thursday. Ryan Johansen: “That’s what it is. I had to be ready to play my best game, but I wasn’t.” Playing the same stars on Saturday, they should be better. Saros has not lost two straight to Pavelski and Co.

Maple Leafs’ Matt Murray (67.8%): Admittedly, this goes one of two ways. Either the former senator, who enjoyed an impressive preseason with the Leafs, bounces back after Wednesday’s loss in Montreal and stands tall against his former team, or he doesn’t. If Murray is actually offered a revenge start against Ilya Samsonov this early on, I like his prospects for a new-looking attack on the Senator who is still developing chemistry.

Very fresh in St. Louis on Saturday and hesitant to roll out a potentially gassed/exhausted blue jacket against a reportedly emotionally refreshed Jordan Binnington. Aside from that, the Krakens’ offensive cast is less attractive against Vegas defenseman and goaltender Logan Thompson, who is bouncing off the first shutout of the 2022-23 season. If you’re flooded with other viable fantasy choices outside of, perhaps choose them instead of rolling dice against Ilya Sorokin and the Islanders at home. was pretty stingy against a strong Panthers offense on Thursday.

Jacob Markstrom, Calgary Flames (99.4%): Calgary’s starting netminer allowed 24 goals in five postseason games against the Oilers a few months ago. Conor McDavid scored a hat-trick and an assist in Wednesday’s opener against the Canucks.
