EAST TAWAS — Tawas Bay Players Continues 43rd Season With Jukebox Musical Comedy disaster Created by Seth Rudetsky and Jack Plotnick. The play is a hilarious spoof of a ’70s disaster movie, featuring earthquakes, tsunamis, piranhas, hell, and, above all, his 1970s songs.
The show will be produced by Jolene Grusecki, directed by Susan Nemeth, and co-directed by Ed Krebs. Vocals and musical direction by Tracy Lentz. The choreographer is Shayna Castle.
The musical opens this Friday, October 14, and runs over two weekends at TBP’s Playhouse at 401 Newman, East Tawas. Other dates are October 15, 16, 20, 21, 22, and 23. During the disaster, the theater will host three new events. Hudgins Hall (refreshment room) becomes a casino. It’s his 1979 and patrons are invited to dress up in his best 1970s costumes and join the fun. Each night a “Best Costume” is announced and the winner’s photo is displayed on the Disaster Hall of Fame bulletin board.
A 50-50 raffle will be held to cover part of the cost of this show. Tickets will be sold before the performance and during the intermission. After the finale, draw a winning ticket with the winner of the costume contest.
